ፕሮፌሰር አድሚያለም ፀጋ ሞንትሪያል ካናዳ በሚገኘው በማክግሪል ዩኒቨርሲቲ ሕክምና ተመርቀው ሀገራቸው ከተመለሱ በሗላ በኢትዮጵያ የውስጥ-ደዌ ድህረ-ምረቃ ትምህርት እንዲጀመርና  ሀገሪቷ ተተኪ የህክምና ባለሙያዎች ትውልድ እንድታፈራ ከፍታኛ ሚና የተጫወቱ ታዋቂ ባለሙያ ሲሆኑ በፕሮፌሰርነት ማዕረግ የአዲስ አበባ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ሕክምና ፋካልት ዲን ሆነው አገልግለዋል። ከረጅም ጊዜ አገልግሎት በሗላ ወደ ካናዳ ተመልሰው በሴንትራል ኒው ፋውንድላንድ ቀጥሎም በሃሚልተን ኦንታሪዮ ውስጥ በሚገኘው ማክማስተር ዩኒቨርሲቲ የውስጥ ደዌ እስፔሻሊስት ሐኪምና መምህር ሆነው አገልግለዋል።        

Professor Edemariam Tsega, grew up in Gondar, Ethiopia, and trained as a physician at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. In 1971 he returned to Addis Ababa to work. Professor Edemariam was instrumental in establishing the first Ethiopian post-graduate programme in Internal Medicine, which went on to train many of the current generation of physicians practicing there. He was Professor of Medicine, and subsequently Dean, of the Faculty of Medicine of Addis Ababa University. After his return to Canada in 1994, he practiced and taught Internal Medicine in central Newfoundland, and subsequently at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario.
