James E. Hurd, Jr.

James E. Hurd, Jr. is a writer, actor, and director, co-authoring civil rights-themed dramas with Bannister including One Sunday in Mississippi and Turpentine Jake, both of which were invited to the National Black Theatre Festival. Hurd co-founded The Kohl Players in LA www.kohlplayers.com. Hurd recently appeared in “Who is Curtis Lee?” (The Met Theatre), Soldiers Voices (The Actor’s Gang), Agatha Christie’s The Hollow (Long Beach Playhouse) and Tiger Tiger Burning Bright (The Stella Adler Theatre). His feature film work includes starring roles in In With Thieves, Consignment, and Deuces; his first film was Something Wild. Television appearances include General Hospital and Murder She Wrote. He has also worked in the Art Department on many features including Batman and Robin, Sneakers, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, What Lies Beneath, and Like Mike.
